In the beginning was the Word…
And that Word turned everything upside down.
It brought hope.
It brought freedom.
It gave sight to the blind, food to the hungry and calm to the storm.
It taught us that another way is possible.
The way of love, not hate.
The way of peace, not war.
The way that led to a cross on a barren hillside outside of a city wall.
Lost, despised, disgraced.
And then death couldn’t stop the story.
Everything changed.
And still it changes…

But in the beginning, there was a baby, and a mum, and a very confused husband.
A cave, a manger, some stinking shepherds and some wise men from the other side of the world with their useless gifts.
A star shining and angels singing…or so we’re told.
From the unlikeliest of starts, the world was changed.

If that doesn’t fill you with hope this Christmas, then I don’t know what will.
From nothing comes everything.
From darkness, light.
From ashes, new life.
…
New Hope.
New Love.
…
